Ask about my 6 week weight loss challenge!
I have a Masters degree from Kansas State University in Nutrition and Dietetics. I entered the weight loss industry in 2001. That training and experience is important for you as a dieter, so that you are placed on the correct plan. An example here would be, ensuring that you don't lose muscle mass while dieting. For instance, let's say Suzie is doing a program and loses 25 pounds. However, of the weight she lost half was muscle and half was actual fat mass. Most diets are dramatic and temporary, and when Suzie reverts to the way she ate before, she will gain her weight back. Her fat mass is actually higher than when she started, and her BMR, or metabolism is now lower! So, It's important that you have biology placed on the right plan for you.
It’s not just a matter of what diet is healthiest for us. People can know their perfect diet, and still choose not to follow it. That is where the importance of customization comes in, to specifically address and tailor a program to your preferences, lifestyle and priorities.
So instead of drastic dieting or yo-yoing as just mentioned, weight loss should be sustainable by making small steps and changes within our habits, behaviors & lifestyle. Sustainable weight loss is the only weight that should matter.
Let’s face it. We are not always going to be motivated. So, having a coach that offers inspiration, encourages you, and keeps you motivated along your journey to achieve your weekly goals and ultimate weight loss and health goals.
A job as a coach is to hold you accountable to achieve your goals by working with you to set measurable goals, increase your focus and prioritize. Sometimes there will be snags. A coach’s job isn’t to discipline for not achieving your goal, instead it is to help you overcome challenges by offering advice, sharing other’s experiences, and empowering you to come up with plans to ensure your next week is successful.
Studies show that you will lose 3x more weight by working with a coach. 3 times!! Also, we don't want to just achieve results, we want weight loss that is sustainable where through the journey you’ve learned healthy habits, and behaviors, and you’ve learned how to become a person who weighs less.
“Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
